Every week I take a picture of Rowan on Kevin's baby blanket next to Fozzie bear. I did the same thing with Hayden until he turned 1. Now I just take one of Hayden every year. It's fun to see how fast they grow, and I keep their pictures with Fozzie in a separate album. Attached are a few examples. I have probably 30 filled picture albums in my house, and I have pictures to put in about 8 more already developed. I have to admit, now that I know how to upload photos and put them on this blog, I've gotten really behind on filling my albums. If only I had about 4 free hours... I had to post a picture of the birthday card my hubby got me. I thought it was really cute :) Kevin has never stopped courting me.

Birthday Week/Father's Day Weekend

My sister Heather & Billy
My sister, Heather, graduated from high school and will be attending UT in the Fall. Chad and Molly had a party for her at their house. My birthday was the 11th. Yes, I am now entering my last year in my twenties. I still think I'm 21, but I'm not. My brother took us all to Carino's for my birthday (thanks, Chad), and I'm happy most of my siblings could make it, but a few were missed. My friends spoiled me at work with breakfast, lunch, and cake (thanks, Sergio, Keith, Shane, & Janet). My husband made me the cutest card and got me flowers (not to mention the aforementioned pictures). My siblings, parents, and in-laws got me great presents, too. I received lots of birthday calls and emails, too. I really am lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family members. Unfortunately, I didn't do so well with Father's day. My siblings and I got my dad a hammock, because he is always falling to sleep in random places. I have yet to get my father-in-law or husband their gift, but they are both wonderful dads. Apparently, Kevin had been giving me hints for about 3 weeks as to what he wanted (a longboard), but I never figured out his hints. I just thought he kept leaving the website up on the internet about longboardlarry because he was daydreaming or indecisive about which one he wanted. Apparently, he had the one he wanted all picked out and ready to order. I'll know better next time...

Hayden's Diagnosis

So, after a month of Hayden being sick, and being on antibiotics twice, and a blood test, the conclusion is.............................. Hayden is a Strep Carrier.
If your child has repeated strep throats, it is possible that they may be a strep carrier. This can be confirmed by a positive strep test when they are feeling well without any sore throat. If he/she is a carrier, then the strep test is not useful to guide treatment for a sore throat since strep may simply be an “innocent bystander” during a viral cold illness. In that case, your health care provider would determine treatment by examination and symptoms rather than by the test. Strep carriers tend not to spread disease. Furthermore, they are not at risk of developing rheumatic fever. Treatment with antibiotics often does not eliminate strep in carriers. Carriers are only treated with antibiotics in the rare instance that a family member has repeated strep infections and it is suspected that the infection seems to be cycling through the family.
Everyone who couldn't keep their hands or lips off of Hayden can sleep better now ;)

Hayden
Well, Hayden has had strep all month long, but we still managed to have a little fun the last little while. From a Spurs game, to the boat, to Hayden's first haircut, we've been pretty busy. Hayden had to give blood today so that they can figure out why his 2 sets of antibiotics haven't gotten rid of his strep. Poor baby-I wanted to cry with him when they were taking his blood. He said that the doctor's didn't make him feel better, but they only made him cry... Hayden likes to play hide-n-seek lately with our valuables. He hid Daddy's wedding ring in the heater vents on the boat, and he hid the fozzy bear that I take a picture of Rowan with every week in the chest in the bedroom. He's so smart and adorable, I just hope he gets better soon...
