Hayden the Great

Hayden started in a Soccer League this Summer. He has 4 other players on his team-Talen, Connally, Mariam, and Cooper. Mariam's mom, Nicki, is their Coach. The whole team and family members are awesome. Hayden really surprised us by participating at his first practice fairly well. However, it seems he gets more nervous as the season goes on, and you wouldn't believe the excuses he comes up with to get out of playing, not to mention the millions of water breaks. It's super hot outside at his 5:45 pm practices on Monday, but his 9 o'clock games are pretty refreshing. Molly & Chad have been bringing round rock doughnuts for everyone at the games, which has been a nice treat. Hayden always has the biggest cheering squad when my family and Kevin's family shows up for the games and sometimes practices. We're all sick today, or we'd be at his soccer practice right now. Hayden generally kicks the ball a few times each game, but always when the ball is not moving (either kicking to start the play or after it goes out of bounds). No one keeps scores, and we're excited no matter whose goal they kick the ball in. Hayden loves to squat on the ground and if the ball dares to touch him mid-game, he freezes. He sure does look like a pro, though. I love my little Soccer Star!

Lil' Miss Ella

I need to quickly get caught-up, so that I can blog about our recent trip to Utah (which was completely awesome, btw). Ella turned 1 and I turned 30 in June (although, I still think I'm 25). Ella had a lady-bug themed birthday party, and everyone had a good time. Her momma was sweet and had a bug hunt to make up for the fact that Hayden missed out on the Easter Egg Hunt this year for being sick. We went to the Oasis to eat for my bday. It wasn't as fun as Ella's party, though.

Two of the other loves of my life.

My gorgeous family

Gee, I'm behind. In May, we went to my sister Heidi's boyfriend Jordan's graduation from UT Law School. With any luck, we'll see Heidi do the same next year. It's called a sunflower ceremony, and the graduates just wear light colored suits and get a sunflower pinned on them as they cross the stage. Afterwards, we went to the Salt Lick with my family and Jordy's parents. We had all you can eat BBQ. It was a fun day, and we even caught a little rain. Way to go, Jordy! BTW, our 4th of July weekend rocked, Hayden's birthday is this Thursday, and we go to Utah all next week to visit Kevin's side of the family!! We even booked a trip to Disney World in September, and my brother is getting married in November, so stay tuned!!

Cajun Cousins

Happy Birthday Von & Travor!! We Love You!!

Look what I caught!

Back in May, we went on a short trip to visit the boys' favorite cousins, Von & Travor, and Uncle Kent & Jeff in Louisiana. Grandma & Grandpa came, too, so we had the whole Turner side there. We were lucky enough to go see Travor perform as the Big Bad Woolf in The Little Red Riding Hood in French, and he was very good! The boys loved swimming with everybody in Kent's pool, too! I had fun when we went crabbing. Alls you have to do is tie a piece of raw chicken to a string and dangle it in the water, and you can catch a blue crab within seconds. We didn't keep any, but we stopped and bought fresh shrimp on the way home and had surf n turf for dinner. We also celebrated the twins' birthday (they turned 10). We love going to Louisiana, and we can't wait to go back! I'm sure you'll agree that I have the cutest nephews ever...
