We went with Grandma and Grandpa Turner (or Simpson, as Hayden calls them) to Zilker Park to see the dinosaurs that were visiting for a few months. It was a pretty hot day, but the kids seemed to like seeing all of the dinosaurs. They weren't as big as I remembered (Dinosaurs alive came to Zilker Park roughly twenty years ago, and Kevin and I both went). The kids ate snow cones at the park, and then we went to Red Robin for lunch. It was yummy-Hayden loves the theme, Red Robin, yummmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm Not

I'm not a photographer, chef, writer, crafty, able to sew, artsy, funny, etc. Of course, I wish I could be all of these things (who doesn't like cute photos, good food, funny stories, homemade costumes, etc.), but I'm not. Perhaps, I'm not cut out for a blog... Just thought you should know, so you could set proper expectations ;)

Rub a Dub Dub

Poor Hayden has had bathroom issues since the beginning of the year. He's been on Miralax everyday since. To help, we give him lots of baths. Grandma likes to give him sink baths. I remember loving them as a kid, too, and I'd have to fight my sisters over which sink to use. If only my bum could still fit in a sink...

We started off the month right by going to County Line for Labor Day for some good ol' BBQ. We had fun feeding the turtles behind the restaurant in the lake and taking some pics. Irene & Lou, & Heidi & Jordy joined us. Rowan was fascinated with the fake wooden ducks behind us. Jordy was nice enough to give Rowan one that he had at home, and Rowan just hugs and kisses it. Rowan can talk now and walk, too! He can say cat, dog, duck, and of course dadadadadadadada. He has said Ma! a few times, but he isn't really good at saying momma yet. Today he walked more than crawled, so I guess you can say he officially walks. Hayden started walking at 8 months, and he never really crawled much (maybe 2 weeks). Rowan started crawling around 6 months and walking around 8, but now he prefers to walk at 10.5 months. I sure do love my boys-they couldn't be any cuter. See for yourself...

My brother, Aaron Craig Hartmann, had his 32nd birthday on September 14th. He has the heart of a 3 year old, and he especially loves his birthday. He makes his birthday list months in advance, and he posts copies of it everywhere and emails people his list. This year he wanted cool robots, cool shorts, cool pants, cool shirts, cool hats, cool dvds, cool music, and to go to the zoo, Sea World, San Antonio, or some other cool place. Due to the hurricane Ike, we ended up going to the Austin Zoo. It was his first time, and he had a blast feeding the animals and riding the train. After the zoo, we ate BBQ ribs and all of the fixins at my parent's house. It was very yummy. We try to get Aaron a gag gift every year, so we wrapped one of his old robots for him to unwrap first, but he wasn't fooled. He was more than thrilled when along with cool shirts, cool hats, cool video games, and more cool shirts (most of which had skulls on them) he opened up his real cool robot. Anyone who called Craig the day of his birthday was immediately asked if they remembered his birthday present. Unfortunately, we couldn't find one of the robots on his list, but he reminded us that we could always get it for him for Christmas. Craig, you're one cool kid!

I couldn't resist this photo...

We had an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend. We celebrated Nathan's 3rd birthday party at the park. It had a train theme, and we all rode a train, and the boys had these cute trains that Brielle made. It was tons of fun. Kevin, Lou, and Jordy played horse shoes, and Kevin liked it so much that he bought a set the next day. Kevin's brothers, Kent and Jeff, came into town to escape the hurricane in Lake Charles. Thankfully, it didn't do much damage there. We ate at the County Line and Cheesecake factory. Rowan is starting to eat more table food, so he loves to go with us. Today we ate at Mr. Gatti's and Rowan and Hayden both ate a ton of food. They take after their momma.
