Sweet Berry Farms

In March, we went on our annual trip to Sweet Berry Farms to pick strawberries. The pickin' was really good. The boys were pros, too. We also got some of their yummy strawberry ice cream. I'd love to go back and pick onions and tomatoes or blackberries, too. We made smoothies and strawberry pies with our strawberries, this year.

Kisatchie National Forest

We had a great time at Kisatchie National Forest. We brought along Kent's yummy brisket and two four-wheelers. I loved riding the 4-wheeler with my boys while Kevin drove. Eventually, I learned to drive them and took each of the boys on an adventure. On my adventure with Rowan, I almost fell off, and the wheel actually touched the back of my calf. It was a little scary, but we managed to stay on. Hayden is pretty quiet and always wants to go faster. Rowan, on the other hand, is just like me on the 4-wheelers. He giggles and laughs and squeals with delight. I liked the tall pine trees and the pine cones. There wasn't much to see in the forest other than tall pine trees and fallen cones. I don't think I saw any signs of wildlife, aside from a few ants. We gobbled down all of the yummy brisket and even stopped for Dairy Queen blizzards on the way home. That night for dinner, I took my hot date to the casino with my sister and her boyfriend, and we ate all-you-can-eat Snow crab. It was delicious! We had such a great Spring Break, and we can't wait to go back to Louisiana to do it all again. We sure do miss our cousins and Kent.

Huntin' for Gators

We actually left Louisiana and drove back to Texas to ride some air boats and hunt for gators. The weather was beautiful, yet Billy got pretty sunburned at the end. We had to wear ear plugs, because it gets really loud. We saw at least a dozen gators on the tour, too. They were all sizes. Our boat captain even took off driving like crazy through the water. He said it was only a few feet deep, too. I have to admit, I was a little scared. We learned about the swamps, the trees, the leftovers from war, the gators, the birds, cows, etc. The boys fell asleep at the end. It was almost three hours long and well worth the money. Next time, we'll do the night tour and actually capture an alligator and bring it on the boat.

Ready for Easter?

Spring Break- The Zoo

This was Hayden's first Spring Break. We all had the whole week off to play together. It was wonderful. We stayed home the first half of the break, and we spent the second half of the break in Louisiana. Here are some pics of our day at the Austin Zoo. The weather was perfect. The boys enjoyed snow cones, Kevin enjoyed the nachos, Nadia enjoyed being held, and I enjoyed the big pig.

St. Patty's Day

We celebrated St. Patty's Day in Louisiana this year. We actually drove there that day, and we must of had the luck o' the Irish with us, because all of the kids were wonderful in the car. Heather and Billy drove the boys in their car, and Kevin, his mom, Nadia, and I rode in the truck. Instead of corned beef and cabbage, Kent smoked the best beef ribs for us that night. More to come...

Nadia is 7 months old, now. I swear she gets cuter every day. Her bottom two teeth started to break through a couple of weeks ago. She is still in size 3 diapers and size 6-9 months clothes, for the most part. She still won't hardly eat anything besides rice cereal. She sits up really well and likes to play with toys. She definitely recognizes people, and she has even started to wave. She squeals easily and loves for her momma to hold her. We just got her a bouncer to stand in and play, and she likes that, too. She loves taking baths and putting everything she can in her mouth. She rarely cries anymore unless she is trying to communicate. She has been going to bed around 8 and sleeping until around 7. She still nurses a few times during the night, but sleeps pretty well. I guess she weighs around 19 pounds. She's long and fairly lean. Her hair still looks pretty good-definitely longer on top, but it looks cute with a rubber band. Nadia is the sweetest little angel from heaven, and we are blessed to have her in our family.
