Rowan played Soccer,

Hayden recovered from his tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy,

we watched Will Ferrell pitch at the Round Rock Express Game,

ate at the Melting Pot for Mother's Day,

sang Alora Happy 18th Birthday,

visited the dentist,

visited the Water Park,

Alora went to Prom, and much more...

Bluebonnet Pics 2010

In late April, we went and took pictures in the Bluebonnets near Jungle Java. The bluebonnets had grown pretty big by then, but we were still able to take pics without running into snakes. I didn't realize I had a smudge on my camera lens until later, so that is what the blurry spot is in all of my pics. The boys were more into picking the flowers this year, than taking pics, but that was to be expected. At least, they didn't try to eat them...

T-Ball Stars

Hayden did very well with his first season of T-Ball. He was a Pirate and had a great coach-Coach Willie. Kevin actually got to coach the first game, which was fun, although I know he was nervous. Hayden liked to say he made 50 or a hundred, thousand home runs after each game, but really each kid scores 2 points. Hayden always batted last, so he did get to make 2 home runs, each game. Rowan really wished he could play (can't until he's 3), but he would usually practice playing ball on the sidelines. We put Hayden back in soccer this season, but I'm sure he'll do T-ball again, soon.

Disney On Ice

We went and saw Disney On Ice in April with Uncle Chad, Auntie M, and the Giards. I thought it was wonderful, and it reminded me of our time in Disney World the year before. They had skits by Cars, the Lion King, the Little Mermaid (my favorite), and they pretty much did the whole Tinkerbell skit, all on ice. The costumes and ice skating were great, in my opinion. The boys enjoyed popcorn and lemonade, too.

Healthy Women's 5K

Grandmama

In April, my mom, sisters, Molly, Brielle, Jill, Deby, and myself did the Healthy Women's 5K in Cedar Park. It was tons of fun, from dressing up with our pink boas and tiaras, to warming up, to taking pictures with a cow, to getting our pics in the hospital paper. To be fair, I did 2/3rds of the 5k, along with my mom and sister, Heather. Pregnant ol' me could have made it all 3 laps, but I wasn't about to let my sister Heather and mom bow out without me. Next year, I plan on doing it again, taking Nadia in a stroller, and making all 3 laps!

Tonsillectomy/Adenoidectomy

My baby Hayden got his tonsils and adenoids removed on May 5th. He's pretty much been sick ever since (cough/sinus infection/ear infections, etc.), but I'm still glad we had it done. Basically, he had huge tonsils, and his adenoids blocked 75% of his nasal passage. They said it was probably why he was colicky, never slept really well, preferred a bottle as a baby, always leaned his head back, snored really loud, was constipated for over a year, etc. They also said he'd probably go through a huge growth spurt now, because he could go into a deeper sleep/REM and release more growth hormone. I'm amazed at how soundly he sleeps, now. Here's a picture of him right before going into surgery. He was soooo brave. He had slight complications after surgery when his O2 levels were low and he didn't want to wake-up, but after being there most of the day, they let us take him home. He ended up being allergic to the pain meds (codeine) and broke out in a rash, etc, so we had to take him off of it. Then, most children's OTC meds were recalled, so we had a hard time finding OTC meds to give him for the pain, so he basically cried in pain for about a week, and still broke out in a rash. Plus, antibiotics like Amoxicillin make Hayden manic, so he would have manic episodes for about an hour or two everyday where he just wasn't himself AT ALL. Needless to say, I'm glad that that is over with and I just know we did the right thing. I'm pretty sure Rowan will get his removed soon, too, but I'd rather wait until he's a little older since he tends to have asthma-like issues.

Sweet Berry Farms

I LOVE going to Sweet Berry Farms. We took the boys and met up with their friend Zoe in April. We ate Happy Meals (another love of mine), picked strawberries, ate strawberries, saw goats, rode a train, and enjoyed the weather. Then, we went to the Bluebonnet Festival in Burnett. We saw the end of a sky show there, walked around the booths, saw the carnival, ate corn-on-the-cob (love it), and drank lemonade. We let the boys eat popsicles on the way home, and left exhausted. I tried to make strawberry pies with the strawberries, but I failed this year. Instead, I ended up with pie shells filled with strawberry soup (Kevin ate some, anyways). Oh, well, that just means I'll have to go back and pick more strawberries, next year.

My Mom-Grandmama

Easter morning, the boys woke up and opened up their baskets at our house. The Easter Bunny left footprints, too. After church, we headed to my parent's house, and the boys had more Easter baskets and goodies from Craig & Courtney & my parents. Then, we decorated Easter bunny cakes and Easter Eggs in preparation for the Easter dinner party at my brother Chad's house. We ate lots of yummy food at my brother's house, then the kid's had an Easter Egg Hunt. My mom put $ in some of the super hero eggs, and that was a big hit for the kiddos. Then, we had the adult Easter Egg Hunt in the front yard with prize eggs, and my sister Irene ended up being the grand prize winner for the second year in a row! All in all, it was a great Easter... even if I didn't get a prize egg. I've got the real prize egg cooking in my belly, and she is due to arrive in 3 months-(Sept. 9th).
