Happy New Year of the Ox!

For New Year's, my parents, Alora, Heather, & Billy, & Craig & Courtney came over to eat, light fireworks, and watch movies. It was a pretty relaxing night. My other siblings all went out and partied downtown, but I was more than happy to stay at home with my 3 cute boys. It was pretty chilly, but the boys seemed to like the fireworks this year. I had Bunco at my house the 2nd Wednesday of the month, and I had the Chinese New Year as my theme. We had Chinese food, and we celebrated the year of the Ox. Here's the pic I used for my reminder email.

Family Pics 2009

Here are some photos from our recent photo shoot at Portrait Innovations. They are also Rowan's 1 year pics, although they are a few months late. I try to get family pics twice a year, once around Rowan's birthday in the winter, and once around Hayden's birthday in the summer. We wear white shirts and blue jeans in the summer and dress up a little in the winter. Hayden did really well this time and was very cooperative. We were very proud of him. Rowan was a little distracted, but we were still able to get some really cute photos of him. They even took a couple photo of Kevin and myself. It wasn't my idea, but I thought it turned out pretty cute. I'm surprised Kevin posed for it, but I guess I'm rubbing off on him.

Well, it's been a while since I've last posted. I guess I'll write about Christmas. Christmas was awesome this year. Good family, good food, good fun, good presents, good boys, good-looking husband, etc. Hayden was obsessed with making Gingerbread houses/cars, we went to Xmas at the Cat-Hollow Park, enjoyed all of the lights in our neighborhood, read Christmas stories in Christmas pajamas, and went ice skating on top of Whole Foods. We were never able to go to any trail of lights, though, because Rowan got sick and was basically sick all month. He ended up getting nearly everyone sick, but me. It spread through about 5 different families. However, we went to Zilker park the beginning of January, and rode the train and got to see some of the Zilker Park Trail of Lights that were still up. We celebrated Kevin's mom and dad and brother Jeff's birthdays in December, as well as my sister's Irene & Heidi. The night before Christmas, we went and saw Nathan's family in a play at their Church. It was very cute. Christmas day started with us putting on our matching pajamas and heading to my parent's house. Nearly everyone was there except for Billy & Jordy. My brother Craig made breakfast tacos and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, but it didn't stop us from hiding the gift he really wanted (Xbox 360) until the very end. After opening up Xbox 360 games and realizing there wasn't a present left in his pile large enough to be the game console he was near hysterics. However, you've never seen a happier kid in a candy store than when we gave in and let him open the Xbox 360. Now, he enjoys playing online with Kevin, Kent, and Adam. He thinks it's the coolest thing. It took a few hours to open all of the presents (we go around from youngest to oldest and open the presents one by one), and then we played with some presents and took a nap. We ate a prime rib dinner at my parent's house, and then we went to Kevin's parent's house to eat and open presents with his parents, brothers, and our nephews Von & Travor. Hayden LOVES playing with his cousins. He had a blast playing with them all week, minus the day when they were sick. It's going to be hard to top this year's Christmas, but we'll certainly try.
