Corpus Christi

Before Easter, we took a short trip to Corpus Christi with my sister, Alora. We had a great time! After checking into the hotel (which was right next to the USS Lexington and Aquarium), we headed for the beach. I stayed on the beach and ate cookies, while Alora and Kevin took the boys in the water. I was really surprised that it was warm enough to get in, but they all loved it. After a few hours, we headed inside, changed, and went across the street to Blackbeard's restaurant. The food there was great, and we were even seated right by a local musician who played fun songs all night. In the morning, we walked over to the Texas State Aquarium. We saw dolphins, petted Stingrays, saw Otters, Sea Turtles, sharks, birds, etc. It was really fun, and the boys even had a little playground there to play on. Afterwards, we got some snow cones and drinks and headed to the USS Lexington. We had a stroller, so we couldn't all go on the tours, but we took turns and had a good time until Hayden fell down a flight of stairs. He scraped up his leg pretty bad, so we ended up having to end our trip early and head back home. We still had a wonderful time, and I hope we can go back, soon.

Day in Austin

The boys love to go to Zilker park to ride the train and play on the playground. Once they are worn out, we usually head to Shady Grove to eat. It was a beautiful day, so Shady Grove was really crowded, so we opted to eat inside, instead. We had yummy queso, corn dogs, chili cheese dogs, green chili cheese fries, garlic ranch, etc. Then, we all went home and took a much needed nap.

Easter/Spring Hunt at Cat Hollow Park

Our neighborhood throws wonderful activities for the kiddos many times a year, all within walking distance. The boys had a good time at the Easter Egg Hunt with their friends Nathan & Ella. They had a great time in the petting zoo, although Rowan was definitely braver than Hayden about picking up and petting the animals. He held on to this tiny rabbit for a long time. Rowan had a conversation with the Easter Bunny, and Hayden and Nathan kept telling each other secrets. Hayden whispered a secret to me that I'm the best Mom, ever! Well, I make no secret that Hayden and Rowan are the best kids, ever!

T-Ball Stars

After 3 seasons of soccer, we decided to let Hayden try out T-Ball. Hayden was very attentive and well-behaved his first day of practice. Rowan thought he was on the T-ball team, too, and he was running around all over the place trying to grab the bats, balls, and helmets and play, too. It was soooo cute. Both of my little boys are awesome T-ball players! Go, Pirates, Go!!

Puppy Love

I love how my boys are picky about what bath towels they will use. They either like the puppy ones, the Viking ones, Lightning McQueen ones, or their embroidered Lion/Monkey/Name ones that Nathan's Grandma Judy made them.
