Handsome Big Brothers

My boys are so excited that we are having a baby girl. Hayden was adamant from the beginning that we were having a girl. Rowan thought there might be a baby girl in his belly, too. After we found out we really were having a baby girl, I asked Hayden how he knew, and he said, "because I prayed to Heavenly Father for a Baby Sister." He's such a sweetie! Hayden and Rowan are going to make the best big brothers, ever!

San Antonio Getaway

Can't you just tell how much our kids love us in these first two pictures?

Enjoying dinner with the coolest family they know at Casa Rio on the Riverwalk.

Starting our day at the San Antonio Zoo

Mama and Papa Turner

These are the mama and papa seahorses. The baby ones looked liked tiny worms.

The hippo was my favorite animal when I went to the zoo as a kid. We used to be able to feed them, too.

This rhino almost ate Rowan's car that he dropped for lunch.

Hayden loved the Kookaburra song when he was little, so I had to get a picture of one.

The baby monkey was so cute!

But, not as cute as this little monkey.

Or, this one feeding the Lorakeet.

Hayden was a little nervous, but Rowan jumped right in to comb the goats.

Elephant ride, anyone?

Don't mind if I do, says Rowan.

Yay-we're on the train!

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

In January, we went with my sister Heather and Billy to San Antonio. We spent the night at the Hyatt Place on the Riverwalk. We walked the Riverwalk, and it was gorgeous and filled with tons of visitors. We ended up eating at Casa Rio, and it was delicious! We went to the zoo in the morning, and we got there just in time to beat the rush. I really liked the tiny, baby seahorses that were barely visible, since they were so small. We went in the butterfly exhibit, fed the Lorakeets, combed the goats, got wax animals, and rode the train around the zoo. We had a great time. On the way home, we stopped in Greune to eat at The Gristmill. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. It was a really short trip, but a great one!

We spent New Year's Eve at my parent's house eating and lighting fireworks. It was super chilly outside, so we didn't play for long. My parents went with Craig & Courtney to a "mustache" party. On New Year's Day, we went to my brother Chad & Molly's house for a New Year's Day party. We ate, played games, and watched the kids have a great time. Rowan was dancing with Ella, and Nathan & Hayden were rocking out. We had a wonderful time. Happy Belated New Year's, Everybody!

Opening presents, one by one

Opening presents at Grandma & Grandpa's house

Well, it's about time I get around to blogging about Christmas, before I forget everything. Hayden and Rowan have been collecting super hero action figures, and Hayden decided to ask Santa for the only one we couldn't find-Carnage. He said, "it's OK if they don't have it in stores, Santa's elves will make it for me!" Needless to say, I searched the internet and paid top dollar for Carnage, and it was waiting for Hayden in his stocking that he opened at our house Christmas morning. My mom always buys everybody matching PJs to wear for Christmas. After opening up stockings at our house, we headed over to my parent's house at about 6 am. They were busy cooking breakfast, and we began opening up presents by 7. We always open presents one at a time starting with youngest to oldest. We keep going around, opening up one present at a time, until all of the presents are open. I surprised Kevin with a guitar, and he surprised me with a keyboard piano. Santa was good to everyone, this year. We ate prime rib roast for lunch at my parents, and then we went home, took a quick nap, then headed to Kevin's parent's house. His mom made delicious clam chowder for dinner, and we opened presents again over there. We had a wonderful Christmas full of good food, good family, and good times, and we got yet another Christmas present when we found out we are expecting (found out Christmas morning) and then that we are having a girl (found out last week) around Sept 9th!! Merry Belated Christmas, Everyone!
