Rowan did a great job playing indoor soccer this past season. It was his first time playing, since he turned three, and he wasn't shy or scared, at all. Hayden would hardly get out on the field without his parents his first couple of seasons, but Rowan took to it like a pro. I think it is mainly because their personalities are completely different. Hayden tends to have a lot of anxiety and be shy, like his dad, and Rowan tends to be fearless and brave, like his mom ;) Just kidding-sort of. This season, Rowan is working on mastering the art of Spiderman Soccer. He shoots his webs all up and down the field. Hayden did really well during the winter season, too. It's definitely been harder for him with the 5 year olds, but he is starting to climb to the top of the West Virginia mountain again. And, of course, if you always keep a smile, and always be happy, then you are a winner!!

Time to Eat
Since Nadia has turned 6 months old, I have tried introducing her to solid food. She is OK with eating rice cereal with fruit or oatmeal with bananas, but she hasn't liked much of anything else. They say to start with green vegetables, add other vegetables (like sweet potatos and squash), then fruits. So far, she'll eat a little bit of bananas, and that is it. Hayden didn't like baby food much, either, so I know I just need to keep trying, and I'll eventually find something she likes. I bought her some grape juice and yogurt to try today. Wish us luck!

Mother Son Dance 2011
I took Rowan and Hayden to the Soccer Mom & Son Dance at the Community Center. Our friends, Nathan and his mom Brielle, were there, too. My boys wanted to win the dancing trophy really, really bad. Rowan kept cutting in line during the limbo and hopping under the pole. I tried to remember the dance moves from Dance Central, but it was no use. We were one of the first ones eliminated. Luckily, our friends won, but that wasn't enough to cheer up poor Rowan. He cried all the way home. We had to leave early, because Hayden ended up coming down with a fever after dancing his little heart out, too. When we got home, daddy came to the rescue and gave Rowan a trophy that we won last summer. Thankfully, he was fooled, and he went to bed feeling like a Dancing Star. Next year, I think I'll have some of my sisters take the boys, and I will stay home. This soccer mom can't dance!

Grandmama's Birthday Lunch at The Salt Lick
We celebrated my mom's birthday this year at the Salt Lick between the boy's soccer games. The BBQ was delicious! All-you-can-eat baby back ribs, brisket, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, bread, pickles, onions, bbq sauce, etc. It was delicious. Have I said that twice already? Well, I'll say it again-De. Lish. Us. Just like my mom. We Love You, mom!!! You look great for 40 and nine kids!!

Weekly Photos of Nadia with Fozzy (Weeks 22-25)
I can't believe that Nadia is already 6 months old! She is gradually transitioning to 6-9 month clothes. It's nice to have a child who fits in the right size. She is getting better at sitting up, but still can't do it unattended or without falling. Her hair is crazy-lots of long hair on top and short hair underneath. I generally pull it up in a rubber band. She likes rice cereal with fruit and bananas, but it is hard to get her to eat anything at all, really. She still nurses a few times each night, but generally isn't up for long periods of time. She likes to do a scream laugh, like me, where she kind of just screams. She will giggle, too, some. She probably weighs 17.4 pounds or so. She had a high fever this month that both of the boys had, but other than that, she's been pretty healthy. We sure do love her to pieces!
