When Rowan was born, he had rapid breathing and was in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) for about 5 days. He had fluid on his lungs, but luckily, no infection. He's been wheezing (struggling to breathe) off and on ever since. Today, the doctors told us that they think he has asthma. We have to begin asthma treatments on him and do them daily during the Winter months. The doctor also said that they've never seen a kid behave so well while getting a treatment. They have to wear an uncomfortable mask for about ten minutes while a loud machine blows air (and the medicine) through the mask. Rowan just sits there, like the angel he is. Here's a picture of Kevin's dad holding him while he has a treatment. Maybe he thinks food is going to pop in that mask at any time. I hope he never finds out the truth about that dino mask...
