Disney World-That's All Folks

Epcot

Waiting for the fireworks to begin...

Waiting for the bus to leave...

This is my final post on our Disney World trip. We all had a great time, but I think we all could agree that we could have used another week or two at Disney. There was just too much to do in the short time we were there (flew in Thursday, flew back Monday). Next time, I hope the whole family can go and that we can stay for at least 2 weeks!! Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope to be able to post soon on my brother's wedding, Halloween activities, etc, so that I can be ready for Christmas posts. Always behind, never ahead, I am...

Downtown Disney-A Date With Hayden

Bathe that Dino, Hayden!

Lego T-Rex and a Happy Hayden

My mom and I snuck away, while everyone was resting at our resort hotel, to take Hayden on a special date to Downtown Disney to Build-a-Dino. Hayden loves Build-a-Bear and dinosaurs, and they put his two favorite things together at Downtown Disney. I could spend a whole week at Downtown Disney and never tire of the things to do there, but we had just a few hours there. If I lived in Orlando, I would take my kids there all of the time, too, because it's free to get into. Of course, I would go poor spending money at all of the different ways to entertain yourself there, though. Anyhow, Hayden picked out Triceratops for himself and a T-Rex for Rowan (that he had stuffed in Austin). We then treated ourselves to pretzels, before heading back to the hotel.

Disney World-Animal Kingdom

I really liked Disney's Animal Kingdom, and I think my kids liked it the best. I loved the safari ride, the Lion King Show, the Bug's Life show, the Macaw show, the Dinosaur ride, the Yedi ride, places for the kids to play, shade, etc. My mom had to eat a chocolate covered frozen banana everyday-it was cute. I had a delicious chocolate ice cream and coke float there. They have a yummy/healthy restaurant in the Animal Kingdom, too.

The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue

Those ribs were yummy!

Chad being introduced to the audience.

Chad is getting his cues for his next line.

Chief Chad

Chad had a false start...

One night in Disney World we attended the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue. It was an all-you-can-eat dinner with entertainment. The menu included corn bread, salad, bbq ribs, fried chicken, beans, mashed potatoes, strawberry shortcake and drinks. The entertainment included a cute little song and dance act that made me feel like I was part of the Beverly Hillbillies, and the best part of all was that my brother Chad was invited on stage to play the part of the Indian. He did a great job, and it was hilarious to see him get into it. His infamous line was "Don't die, Davy (Crockett), don't die!" Ironically, he is a doctor and probably could have saved his life if it was really necessary.

Disney World-Hollywood Studios/MGM/Epcot

Day 2 in Disney World (Saturday) was spent at Hollywood Studios in the morning and then Epcot at night before heading to our special dinner activity. I made sure to pick up extra Fozzy Bears at MGM (Hollywood Studios), because I take a picture every week with each of my kids with it (until they are 1, then ever year there after), and I want each of them to have one when they are older.

Disney World-Trick or Treating

The headless horseman that won't show up on your camera, but appeared after I uploaded the photo...

Yes, that is Johnny Depp waving to me.

Molly hula-hooping before the parade.

I can't believe Hayden actually dressed up!

Hayden's favorite thing at Disney World-the Kiwi Bird (it's a small world ride)

Somebody get a whip.

Rowan loved the shades and hat. So cute!

We attended a Very Scary Mickey Halloween at Disney World. We all dressed up as pirates, watched the parade, trick arrr treated, danced in the streets, and went home tuckered out.
