Some of Hayden's Fans

Hayden is full of excuses-his belly hurts here...

Rowan and Hayden's dog, Sparky, cheering Hayden on.

Hayden's favorite pose-he's this way about half the time he's on the field.

Hayden kicking off the ball to start the game.

Hayden's biggest fan-Rowan. Rowan is already ready to play, I tell ya.

Hayden the Great

Hayden started in a Soccer League this Summer. He has 4 other players on his team-Talen, Connally, Mariam, and Cooper. Mariam's mom, Nicki, is their Coach. The whole team and family members are awesome. Hayden really surprised us by participating at his first practice fairly well. However, it seems he gets more nervous as the season goes on, and you wouldn't believe the excuses he comes up with to get out of playing, not to mention the millions of water breaks. It's super hot outside at his 5:45 pm practices on Monday, but his 9 o'clock games are pretty refreshing. Molly & Chad have been bringing round rock doughnuts for everyone at the games, which has been a nice treat. Hayden always has the biggest cheering squad when my family and Kevin's family shows up for the games and sometimes practices. We're all sick today, or we'd be at his soccer practice right now. Hayden generally kicks the ball a few times each game, but always when the ball is not moving (either kicking to start the play or after it goes out of bounds). No one keeps scores, and we're excited no matter whose goal they kick the ball in. Hayden loves to squat on the ground and if the ball dares to touch him mid-game, he freezes. He sure does look like a pro, though. I love my little Soccer Star!
